Nicaragua Salutes the 64th Anniversary of the Independence of Gabon

The Gabonese people celebrate their Independence Day on August 17.

On Friday, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega sent greetings to Brigadier General Brice Oligui Nguema, chairman of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions and Commander-in-Chief of the Guard of the Gabonese Republic, on the anniversary of the independence of his country.

“On behalf of the people and Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua, and on our own behalf, we wish to express our sincerest congratulations to you, the people and government of the Gabonese Republic, on the commemoration of the 64th Anniversary of Independence Day, this coming August 17th,” el Nicaraguan leader said.

“The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua would like to reiterate its will to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation that unite our peoples and governments,” he added.

The Gabonese people celebrate their Independence Day on August 17, the date on which this African republic became independent from France in 1960.
